Read. Learn. Win. Become a #catholicgeek like our youth minister!
Our Middle School Youth Group (MSYG) Saint Challenge program is a way for all middle school students to learn about the Saints and win prizes. It encourages the study of the many Saints of the Church, and the more saints a student studies, the greater the prize they can get at the end of the year.
Here's how it works:
Using the form below, MSYG students can select a Saint to learn about from our library of Saints. We have over 40 to choose from and our collection is always growing! After choosing a Saint, the book will be available for pickup at the Church Office.*
The Student will then have two weeks, or until the next MSYG meeting to read the book and complete one of the report options to show what they learned.
After that, they earn 50 Saint Points! These points are accumulated and at the end of the year students will get prizes (ranging from Tiny Saint charms to Sticker Sets to Saint bracelets to Amazon Gift Cards and more) based on their point total.
There is no limit for how many points a student can earn.
Report Options are all based around answering these three important questions about the Saints:
The report can be: written (~300 words), oral (~2-3 minutes - come talk to Ms. Catherine about the Saint in a casual conversation before or after MSYG meetings), visual (a PowerPoint style presentation or a poster board with content), or parents & students can contact Ms. Catherine for other options.
*if the book a student selects is already checked out, Ms. Catherine will contact you with an alternative and put you on a waiting list for your requested book.
