Are you a high school senior? Do you want to share your faith with your peers? Are you terrified of leadership but feel a call to do something with this faith you have? Do you like talking about Jesus?If you answered “yes!” to any of those questions, then consider asking about our Peer Ministry Team!What is the Peer Ministry Team? As the name implies, our Peer Ministry Team is a team of high school seniors that minister to their peers. Our peer ministers are trained in various leadership, teamwork, communication, and research/presentation skills throughout the year and work closely with our Confirmation Leadership Team to walk through the Confirmation process with our candidates.What does the Peer Ministry Team do?Peer Ministers work with Miss Catherine and their first role is to be leaders in faith, mentors if you will, for our Confirmation class. They assist in running small groups, helping plan and lead retreats, encouraging their small group in being active in the parish community, and commit to deepening their own prayer life over the year.Peer Ministers will attend the Confirmation Small Group sessions from September - April, come to our team meetings, and attend one or more of our Confirmation Retreats in January, February, or March.The Peer Ministry Team will meet for a day-long retreat/training in August to form our community and help us truly be a team working together towards a common goal.Who can join the Peer Ministry Team? Any high school seniors, who have been confirmed, are invited to contact Miss Catherine about joining. Our peer ministers need to be committed and prioritize our functions, they need to be devout in their faith, regularly going to Mass and receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and willing to share their faith life with those around them.
Why should I join the Peer Ministry Team? You gain valuable experience in leading, presenting, planning, and problem solving throughout the year. And you get to take a step up in your faith life, empowered to not only learn - but to share your faith with your small group throughout the year.In addition, you’ll work closely with our Confirmation Leadership Team and gain mentors, guides in faith, and the ability to learn from their experiences. And that’s not even getting us started on the friendships you’ll make!

It's as simple as that to start the process. You can call the Church Office to speak with her, send her an email through the website's contact form, etc.
There is no formal application process this year, as it's our first year with this team.Our Peer Ministry Team’s Patron Saints are St. Teresa of Avila, Bl. Carlos Acutis, and St. Michael. These three heavenly leaders, in community, faith, and against temptation, are inspiration and intercessors for us when it comes to leading our youth groups and being examples for our peers.If you're a high school 10th-11th grader and are interested in leadership opportunities, contact Miss Catherine about how you can get involved with our Middle School Youth Ministries.
