Q. Do you have to be a registered parishioner at St. George Catholic Church to be interred in the St. George Cemetery? A. No, you do have to be a parishioner at St. George to be interred in the St. George Cemetery. Many graves, mausoleum crypts and niches have already been purchased by people outside the St. George parish. The priest or deacon from your home parish is welcome to preside at the committal of your remains.
Q. What types of burial spaces are available at St. George and what is included in the price of the crypt/niche? A. St. George has:
Niches (10x10x10 space), space for 1 (one) Urn
Single Crypts, space for 1(one) Casket
Single Crypt w/Abbey, space for 2 (two) Caskets
True Companion Crypt, space for 2 (two) Caskets
True Companion w/Abbey Crypts, space for 4 (four) Caskets
There are a few in ground spaces remaining (approximately 3 (three) currently)
Family Tomb Section of the Cemetery (Lots sold to St. George Parishioners and the parishioner/purchaser works with Monument Company to build their family tomb)
Urns may be inurned in the crypts. The price of the Niches/Crypts/Plots includes perpetual care to maintain the grounds.
Q. Can I sell my grave/crypt/niche or give it to someone else if I choose? A. Yes, graves/crypts/niches may be sold or donated (given) to someone. Because there are strict legal requirements regarding the cemetery records, you would need to coordinate plans and paperwork with the Cemetery Coordinator at St. George Catholic Church. A title transfer fee may apply.
Q. I’m Catholic but my spouse isn’t, can we both have our remains interred in the Cemetery? A. Yes, you do not have to be Catholic to have your remains interred here. The non-Catholic decedent may have a minister from their faith perform the committal service with prior pastoral approval from St. George.
Q. Are flowers or mementos allowed in the Cemetery? A. Yes, flowers are allowed in the cemetery. The grounds and surroundings will be beautifully landscaped and well taken care of to provide a prayerful and peaceful aesthetic.
